Extending the argument made in The Lost Books of Jane Austen about the impact of cheap reprints upon Austen’s global reputation, Professor Janine Barchas takes on more than a century of Austen editions aimed at teens. Her richly illustrated talk will reveal how mainstream publishers have shapeshifted Austen in accordance with changing views of what might appeal to a young-adult audience.
